Water and sanitation

Aim: providing people with safe water

Lack of water and Sanitation is affecting women, children, families and farmers. Women and girls in rural areas in Uganda especially in Wakiso district are spending hours a day fetching dirty water which leads to illness and diseases, robbing entire communities of their futures.

Lack of access to safe water and proper sanitation limits education and food production, it harms health and leads to a cycle of poverty.

We work with local experts and community members fo find the best sustainable solution in each place where we work, whether it's a well, a piped system, a Biosand filter, or a system for harvesting rainwater.
And with every water point we fund, our partners coordinate sanitation and hygiene training, and establish a local water Committee to help keep water flowing for years to come.
